Poker is the Best Game Ever

March 10, 2008

I have always been a mild fan of poker, but recently it seems to have grown to a new level. I remember the first time I played poker was with in my buddies basement when we were like 15. We did not have poker chips or a poker table so we had to use pennies to keep track of who owed what. I remember I got my ass handed to me because we played “dealer calls.” I was still a beginner and my friends would throw around every type of poker game variation possible including “stud” and “guts” along with crazy wild card games that messed up my odds calculations. Each game had its own nuance and strategy which made it really tough to get a good grasp on the game.

Over time I watched poker popularity sky rocket. I think the biggest thing that pushed poker to a new level was online poker. I remember hearing of friends making thousands of dollars playing all night in these poker rooms. I did not have the same luck as them. Maybe it was the lack of real people, or real chips, but it did not feel like a real game. I missed the smell of cigars and cigarettes, and eying your openest down, hoping they would crack. Maybe I just sucked and needed to practice more. Either way I started to follow the Bet Anywhere blog to see what is happening with online poker. Apparently now you can even bet on sports games from your cellphone. Maybe I will have better luck with my cellphone than my computer 😉

What do you think whats your experience with poker?

February 14, 2008

Low Fiber DietI have tried various diets out there to stay healthy from Atkin, to Master Cleanse, Vegan and now I think I found something that works for my body and may work for others too. 5 Reasons You Never Thought About To Start Blogging Today

February 7, 2008

I post 5 reasons for starting a blog after getting permission from the original source Alexander Tsatkin

Here are the top 5 reasons you never thought about to start blogging today:

5. Repository for Ideas -Tired of keeping all your ideas in notebooks and random sticky notes. Blog it and have it at your finger tips any time you need it.

4. Take Market Share from Google – As we know Google sucks for discovering new things, especially things that are not search engine friendly. By partaking in the blogging community you can pass on valuable resources that may never get ranked in google.

3. Educate Readers – Everyone has something they can teach others. Are you tired of people bugging you to show them the same things. Well write a post or start a blog about it and next time just give them the URL and save yourself some time.

2. Online Reputation Management – If you are single, someone looking for a job, or someone who is concerned with identity theft, then you should be starting a blog. A blog is a great way to manage your reputation online and protect your good name.

1. Time Capsule Effect– In 7th grade my teacher had the class do an exercise that I will remember forever. Some of you may have done this too. Basically we wrote a letter to ourselves into the future. We wrote down our hobbies, interests, our dreams, and who we wanted to be when we grew up. The teacher would wait till senior year of high school to send the letter. Imagine my reaction when I received that letter, I had completely forgot about the exercise, never mind what I wrote. A blog is a great way to lock a moment in your life to reference upon years down the road.

Dry Skin in Winter Solutions

November 24, 2007

This is something embarrassing for me to write about, but during winter my skin goes haywire. Since I could remember as winter approached my skin would do odd things: itching, rashes, flaking, etc. I know its a gross subject, but there must be other people who deal with this. There has to be natural skin care solutions for what ails me. Here is a list of some of the things I have had to deal with every winter.

Rock Art : Amazing Rock Balancing Artist

November 15, 2007

So the other day my girlfriend and I decided to get out of San Francisco for a day and ended up going to Sausilito. The coolest thing there was the Rock Art. There was an artist who would balance rocks one on top of each other. These were pretty big rocks too, and when you see it, it will blow your mind how they stayed up. It seems to defy gravity. Here is the video of rock art and how he managed to balance them.
